Ritmix RMD-758 tablet review

Ritmix has started selling the RMD-758, a 7-inch tablet hybrid with Tvs Scooty Pep smartphone with earpiece, 3G connectivity and GPS. Interestingly, the device turned out to be not very expensive, based on the technical characteristics (4 cores, HD IPS screen, two cameras, Android version 4.2), - only about 6,000 rubles. It seems to me that the RMD-758 will be of interest to those who want to get everything at once: you can call, and comfortably surf the Internet, and install it in your car as a navigator.

Design, dimensions, controls

The gadget has a rectangular shape. The corners are slightly rounded. From the front side, the RMD-758 model does not stand out in any way - a typical "Noneim" product. Although attentive "specialists" will still notice some similarities with other devices from Ritmix.

The screen frames (top and bottom 16 mm each, right and left 9 mm each) are black, thin edging is matte plastic, part of the back surface and part of the side face are made of gray semi-gloss plastic. But the rear non-removable panel is already made of metal (with vertical polishing), painted black. Of course, over time, the paint will slowly peel off, but in this case, the manufacturer included a universal cover in the kit. And thanks for that.

For a seven-inch tablet, the dimensions are quite compact - 189x115x9.7 mm. Pay attention to the thickness, it does not exceed 10 mm, which is very nice. For example, the dimensions of the popular Nexus 7 of 2012 (it’s not worth comparing with the 2013 model - different price categories) are 199x120x11 mm, it weighs 340 grams, Ritmix is 37 grams lighter. Since the RMD-758 has a relatively narrow body, it lies well in the hand, theoretically it can be clasped on both sides and used as a phone. It looks scarier than a person with a Note 3 or even a Sony Xperia Ultra, but no one forbids using headsets.

The tablet is assembled well, but the back cover slightly bends to the battery.

At the top of the front panel is a speaker, covered with a light metal mesh. The sound is loud, but, firstly, the interlocutor is heard as if from afar, and secondly, not the best intelligibility. The speaker does not rattle, there are no overloads. In general, there are some inconveniences, but for 6,000 rubles you should not want more. In the end, I repeat, use headsets.

To the right of the speaker are light and proximity sensors. Both are functioning correctly. Even to the right is the front camera.

There are no elements on the right edge, on the left there are small buttons: back, volume control and power. They rise slightly above the body and play a little. Top - 3.5 mm headphone jack, micro-USB with OTG support. At the bottom is a microphone, and closer to the rear panel are slots for microSD and SIM cards (miniSIM). On the reverse side are the camera, reset button and speaker.
