Actually, this is me to the fact that for a couple of weeks of very careful use, the back cover of Mi 9 was slowly covered with small scratches. On one of the Russian YouTube channels, a gadget from Xiaomi was subjected to drop tests. So, the second fall of the device with the screen down decently damaged the glass, and the first fall on the back completely killed it. On the same channel, the most popular comment (more than 200 likes, and I completely agree with him) is: “It seems to me that Gorilla Glass only changes the number with each generation?”.

Xiaomi engineers decided to install a battery with a capacity of only 3300 mAh in their flagship smartphone. I think they were counting on Qualcomm's energy-intensive 7nm processor with the new Prime Core core distribution system. In general, partly engineers and programmers succeeded:

  • Play video at maximum brightness for 20 hours
  • Games at maximum brightness for 10 hours

Everything seems to be fine, however, with the active use of the phone, the percentage of charge decreases literally before our eyes. As a result, it turns out like this: about 4-4.5 hours of screen glow in 16 hours or 3-3.5 hours in 24 hours. For example, Huawei Mate 20 gives out 5-6 hours of screen glow at the same load, or 4.5-5 hours in a day and a half. And there, after all, the IPS-matrix and the diagonal is 6.5 inches

Yes, you can remember about the active "killing" of applications in the background - rightly so. But this happens in the first two weeks of using the Mate 20, then the system more accurately distributes the load. Now I no longer experience problems with the lack of notifications in the background.

From the point of view of accuracy, not everything is so cool: I managed to catch from three meters, the device saw up to 35 satellites, and up to 25 satellites were in operation. In my subjective opinion - powerful!

The Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphone is equipped with an NFC chip. However, I could not establish adequate work for him: he reads the Troika card, but does not want to record trips (I had to write to support a couple of times to return the money); I also failed to pay using NFC (when you touch the terminal with your phone, the latter emits a short beep, and nothing happens). What is the reason for such a negative experience, I can’t say.

Memory, chipset and performance

The global version of Xiaomi Mi 9 is equipped with 6 GB LPDDR4x RAM at 28,500 MB / s - the highest RAM speed ever! Built-in UFS 2.1 is either 64 GB or 128 GB. The test showed 730 MB / s (read) - an excellent result, but the write - only 200 MB / s, this is a low figure! Memory cards are not provided in this device.

The novelty of Xiaomi has acquired the top processor of the American company Qualcomm - Snapdragon 855, presented in December last year. It must be understood that almost all future flagship smartphones and other devices will have Snap 855 on board.

This chip is built on a 7 nm process technology, that is, in fact, it plays catch-up, since Apple A12 Bionic processors of the same size were shown earlier, a bit later - Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 980, and Samsung Exynos 9820 can also be written here with 8 nm.

Now everyone is trying to somehow highlight their achievements in the field of artificial intelligence, and so, to work with AI in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, the Hexagon 690 DSP processor is used. It functions in conjunction with the core and graphics system.

What we get in real life is a very fast smartphone. Another thing is that other devices on weaker platforms behave in exactly the same way. At the moment, there is no urgent need to increase the number of cores, frequencies, and so on. More important is the technical process, energy saving. However, the scheme for good battery life has long been known: AMOLED screen + capacious battery + stable software with decent optimization. But that's another story.

In general, I wanted to say that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor will last another 3-4 years without problems, and the 855 will last 5-6 years ahead. All the same, VR is developing slowly, and smartphones do not yet have other resource-intensive tasks. "But what about the games?" - you ask. At the moment, the Google Play store rarely comes across really worthy toys with really cool graphics. And all because most users have inexpensive smartphones that can only pull PUBG and WOT at medium settings.

Do I need to talk about the fact that Xiaomi Mi 9 pulls all games at maximum settings? :) Even if it does not pull, then this is already a problem for game developers: software must be written normally.

In the Antutu Benchmark test, the smartphone scores 370,000 points. I will not cite other benchmarks - all this is boring and the end user does not need it at all. Yes, and geeks are not particularly important.

Software

Here I will only express my brief opinion about the proprietary shell. After testing the Xiaomi Mi 9 for a long time, I cannot say that the UI stands out from the rest of the shells with something special. I often hear that EMUI from Huawei is called miserable. So, MIUI 10 is definitely not better, and in some moments even worse: dumb icons of round, rectangular and other shapes, toy animation, and so on.

According to the DxOMark rating, the Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphone receives the highest score for video. And for the quality of the photo - the second place. It's probably cool. What happens in real life?

Daytime photos are simply amazing: a wide dynamic range, high sharpness, excellent detail. In short, there is nothing to complain about.

In the evening, the picture begins to gather dust, especially in small details. But still there is a fairly wide DR, almost complete absence of noise and accurate white balance even in difficult light temperature conditions.

There is a night mode in the software. I did not like his work: the colors become nuclear, the picture is soapy, and sometimes too obscure.

Two-fold optics are familiar. Creates more or less good pictures in normal lighting conditions. As soon as the light becomes less, it switches to the main camera.

You can take macro photos at a wide angle. Optics works similarly in Huawei Mate 20/20 Pro.

The front camera of Xiaomi Mi 9 at 20 MP shoots very well, I would add that this is one of the best selfie cameras!

I liked the video shooting. 4K at 60 FPS is especially impressive. However, due to the lack of an optical stabilizer, the image twitches a lot. When shooting at a wide angle, the shake effect is almost imperceptible, but here the frame rate drops to 30 FPS. Slomo videos are saved at 1080p 960 FPS, 10 seconds long.

Total: I can’t say that the Xiaomi Mi 9 cameras surprised me a lot, but with a smartphone costing about 35,000 rubles, I’m sure you can’t imagine better!

I checked the quality of music transmission on Bose QC35 headphones via wire. The sound is very loud, the quality is just excellent. The entire frequency range is relatively flat, perhaps with a slight advantage in the lower frequencies. I used Meizu POP without wires. I can say: Xiaomi Mi 9 rocked these “ears” as much as possible in terms of volume. Even simple ASMR in the subway is quite comfortable to listen to. Do you listen to ASMR? :)

  • At the moment, the cost of the device in Russia is unknown. At a price of 45,000 rubles Mi 9, I would say: "Come on, goodbye!"
  • I would like to see either a screen without a cutout, or in a round hole format
  • Runtime is good, but the battery drains rather quickly under load
  • Software. There are a lot of jambs so far: I don’t have notifications in the panel on top, NFC doesn’t work for payment; advertising seems to be turned off, but it still climbs out of all the software "slots"; I deactivated the button on the case on the left, but for some reason it launches the Google Assistant. There are other less noticeable bugs.

What in general? But in general, everything is not bad, but the smartphone itself did not impress me: yes, it is powerful, yes, it shoots well, but there is no zest - what would make it stand out among other devices. Is that only the price.

I consider the closest competitor to Huawei Mate 20, which I use as the main one. Perhaps this is the most successful smartphone of 2018: here you have a high-quality IPS-matrix, and the best battery life, and the excellent quality of three cameras, and a nice design, and an adequate price in the region of 40,000 rubles.

Alternatively Honor View 20. Plus or minus an analogue of the Mate 20, only with two cameras, but the camera is right on the screen. The price is about 37,000 rubles.

If you are interested in a wide-angle camera, then I would look towards ASUS Zenfone 5Z: a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of internal memory, a cool IPS screen. The cost is from 38,000 rubles.

However, the scheme for good battery life has long been known: AMOLED screen + capacious battery + stable software with decent optimization. But that's another story.

In general, I wanted to say that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor will last another 3-4 years without problems, and the 855 will last 5-6 years ahead. All the same, VR is developing slowly, and smartphones do not yet have other resource-intensive tasks. "But what about the games?" - you ask. At the moment, the Google Play store rarely comes across really worthy toys with really cool graphics. And all because most users have inexpensive smartphones that can only pull PUBG and WOT at medium settings.

Do I need to talk about the fact that Xiaomi Mi 9 pulls all games at maximum settings? :) Even if it does not pull, then this is already a problem for game developers: software must be written normally.

In the Antutu Benchmark test, the smartphone scores 370,000 points. I will not cite other benchmarks - all this is boring and the end user does not need it at all. Yes, and geeks are not particularly important.

Software

Here I will only express my brief opinion about the proprietary shell. After testing the Xiaomi Mi 9 for a long time, I cannot say that the UI stands out from the rest of the shells with something special. I often hear that EMUI from Huawei is called miserable. So, MIUI 10 is definitely not better, and in some moments even worse: dumb icons of round, rectangular and other shapes, toy animation, and so on.

They will be installed in almost all price segments of smartphones. Is it good? Without a doubt, yes.

Daytime photos are simply amazing: a wide dynamic range, high sharpness, excellent detail. In short, there is nothing to complain about.

In the evening, the picture begins to gather dust, especially in small details. But still there is a fairly wide DR, almost complete absence of noise and accurate white balance even in difficult light temperature conditions.

There is a night mode in the software. I did not like his work: the colors become nuclear, the picture is soapy, and sometimes too obscure.

Two-fold optics are familiar. Creates more or less good pictures in normal lighting conditions. As soon as the light becomes less, it switches to the main camera.

You can take macro photos at a wide angle. Optics works similarly in Huawei Mate 20/20 Pro.

The front camera of Xiaomi Mi 9 at 20 MP shoots very well, I would add that this is one of the best selfie cameras!

I liked the video shooting. 4K at 60 FPS is especially impressive. However, due to the lack of an optical stabilizer, the image twitches a lot. When shooting at a wide angle, the shake effect is almost imperceptible, but here the frame rate drops to 30 FPS. Slomo videos are saved at 1080p 960 FPS, 10 seconds long.

Total: I can’t say that the Xiaomi Mi 9 cameras surprised me a lot, but with a smartphone costing about 35,000 rubles, I’m sure you can’t imagine better!

I checked the quality of music transmission on Bose QC35 headphones via wire. The sound is very loud, the quality is just excellent. The entire frequency range is relatively flat, perhaps with a slight advantage in the lower frequencies. I used Meizu POP without wires. I can say: Xiaomi Mi 9 rocked these “ears” as much as possible in terms of volume. Even simple ASMR in the subway is quite comfortable to listen to. Do you listen to ASMR? :)

There are a lot of jambs so far: I don’t have notifications in the panel on top, NFC doesn’t work for payment; advertising seems to be turned off, but it still climbs out of all the software "slots"; I deactivated the button on the case on the left, but for some reason it launches the Google Assistant. There are other less noticeable bugs.

What in general? But in general, everything is not bad, but the smartphone itself did not impress me: yes, it is powerful, yes, it shoots well, but there is no zest - what would make it stand out among other devices. Is that only the price.

I consider the closest competitor to Huawei Mate 20, which I use as the main one. Perhaps this is the most successful smartphone of 2018: here you have a high-quality IPS-matrix, and the best battery life, and the excellent quality of three cameras, and a nice design, and an adequate price in the region of 40,000 rubles.

Alternatively Honor View 20. Plus or minus an analogue of the Mate 20, only with two cameras, but the camera is right on the screen. The price is about 37,000 rubles.

If you are interested in a wide-angle camera, then I would look towards ASUS Zenfone 5Z: a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of internal memory, a cool IPS screen. The cost is from 38,000 rubles.

Another option is LG G7 ThinQ. Now its price has fallen to 34,000 rubles. Here again is a high-quality IPS screen, two cameras, one of which is wide, Snap 845 processor.

Actually, this is me to the fact that for a couple of weeks of very careful use, the back cover of Mi 9 was slowly covered with small scratches. On one of the Russian YouTube channels, a gadget from Xiaomi was subjected to drop tests. So, the second fall of the device with the screen down decently damaged the glass, and the first fall on the back completely killed it. Yes, you can remember about the active "killing" of applications in the background - rightly so. But this happens in the first two weeks of using the Mate 20, then the system more accurately distributes the load. Now I no longer experience problems with the lack of notifications in the background.

However, I could not establish adequate work for him: he reads the Troika card, but does not want to record trips (I had to write to support a couple of times to return the money); I also failed to pay using NFC (when you touch the terminal with your phone, the latter emits a short beep, and nothing happens). What is the reason for such a negative experience, I can’t say.

Memory, chipset and performance

The global version of Xiaomi Mi 9 is equipped with 6 GB LPDDR4x RAM at 28,500 MB / s - the highest RAM speed ever! Built-in UFS 2.1 is either 64 GB or 128 GB. Appearance

At the presentation, almost a third of the time was devoted to the appearance of the novelty. That is, despite the quite familiar design of the device, the company still found something to tell us about. The first thing that was noted was the smooth shapes and smooth curves of the case. On the slides it looked incredibly cool, but in real life the phone looks ordinary and even quite familiar. Probably, for me personally, this is one of the main drawbacks of this model: there is absolutely nothing to “attach” to in a good way.

Corning glass back feels like plastic. I consider all the stories that Gorilla Glass is a durable material a myth. Having tested hundreds of devices with different generations of CGG, I came to the simplest “captain's” conclusion: absolutely all phones are subject to scratches and scuffs, and whether the display / rear panel breaks or not - pure luck. Actually, this is me to the fact that for a couple of weeks of very careful use, the back cover of Mi 9 was slowly covered with small scratches. On one of the Russian YouTube channels, a gadget from Xiaomi was subjected to drop tests. So, the second fall of the device with the screen down decently damaged the glass, and the first fall on the back completely killed it. On the same channel, the most popular comment (more than 200 likes, and I completely agree with him) is: “It seems to me that Gorilla Glass only changes the number with each generation?”.

Oleophobic coating is present on the screen, the quality is good.

On the top of the front panel there are various sensors, a small indicator of missed events, a selfie camera, a speaker. It is very loud, the sound is clear, pleasant, the timbre is shifted to mid-low frequencies, which is good.

At the bottom there is a microphone, USB Type-C and a second speaker.

On the right is the power button and the volume rocker. Both are thin and short. Pressing is not very pleasant precisely because of the thickness: the impression that you will not be able to hit the buttons now.

An additional microphone and an IR transmitter are located on the top end.

On the reverse side, a module with three lenses is clearly visible. It sticks out quite a bit from the body. If you put the Mi 9 lid down, then the left side without cameras will outweigh. The lenses are protected by sapphire glass. However, returning to the drop test again, it should be noted that even this area was able to be “hit-doked” by the reviewers from the first drop of the phone on the rear panel.

Display

For this model, the developer decided to use a waterdrop notch screen. By the way, why not something like Infinity-O, I don’t quite understand: all modern top-end devices have got a “hole” in the screen, and some even two :)

The screen diagonal of Xiaomi Mi 9 is 6.39 inches, the usual resolution is 2340x1080 pixels (400 pixels per inch), the SuperAMOLED matrix is ​​provided by Samsung, there is support for HDR. And I'm wondering, how many people use HDR on a smartphone?

Viewing angles are maximum, without distortion. The most important thing is not green.

It seemed to me that the maximum brightness of the matrix backlight is not too high, obviously not reaching 600 nits. In the sun, of course, the picture is read normally, but I would like it to be brighter.

In the settings there is an item "Colors and saturation". In fact, there you can choose the saturation of the color space. There is also a mode in which the entire interface is filled with black. In theory, it should save battery.

Optional: wake up - double tap on the screen, auto-rotate and activate the screen when picking up the phone.

Total: the usual SuperAMOLED screen with the usual brightness and color settings.

Opening hours

Xiaomi engineers decided to install a battery with a capacity of only 3300 mAh in their flagship smartphone. I think they were counting on Qualcomm's energy-intensive 7nm processor with the new Prime Core core distribution system. In general, partly engineers and programmers succeeded:

  • Play video at maximum brightness for 20 hours
  • Games at maximum brightness for 10 hours

Everything seems to be fine, however, with the active use of the phone, the percentage of charge decreases literally before our eyes. As a result, it turns out like this: about 4-4.5 hours of screen glow in 16 hours or 3-3.5 hours in 24 hours. For example, Huawei Mate 20 gives out 5-6 hours of screen glow at the same load, or 4.5-5 hours in a day and a half. And there is still an IPS-matrix and a diagonal of 6.5 inches.

Yes, you can remember about the active "killing" of applications in the background - rightly so. But this happens in the first two weeks of using the Mate 20, then the system more accurately distributes the load. Now I no longer experience problems with the lack of notifications in the background.

Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphone supports Qi wireless charging. Separately, you can purchase one of the fastest Xiaomi MDY-10-EP in the world with a power of up to 20 W.

The phone can be powered via cable from the MDY-10-EL (Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+) power adapter up to 27 W (70% in just 30 minutes). The kit also comes with an 18W adapter: 55% in 30 minutes and 100% in 1.5 hours.

Communication features

Traditionally, two nano SIM cards, both support 4G LTE with bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/20/28. Other bands can be specified in the table with characteristics. From the point of view of the level of signal reception, there are no complaints - the level of any modern top-end mobile device.

There are wireless interfaces Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac two channels 2.4/5 GHz (2x2 MIMO, MU-MIOMO, WPA3, Wi-Fi Display), Bluetooth version 5.0 (TrueWireless Stereo Plus, AAC/ LDAC/aptX/aptX-HD).

If we are talking about GPS, then Xiaomi Mi 9 not only supports the signal at L1 frequencies, but can also receive a more complex L5 signal. Thus, accuracy is increased, stability is improved in dense urban areas, and power consumption is reduced.

What does this give us in real life? It's simple: even indoors, Mi 9 is able to catch up to five satellites! From the point of view of accuracy, not everything is so cool: I managed to catch from three meters, the device saw up to 35 satellites, and up to 25 satellites were in operation. In my subjective opinion - powerful!

The Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphone is equipped with an NFC chip. However, I could not establish adequate work for him: he reads the Troika card, but does not want to record trips (I had to write to support a couple of times to return the money); I also failed to pay using NFC (when you touch the terminal with your phone, the latter emits a short beep, and nothing happens). What is the reason for such a negative experience, I can’t say.

Memory, chipset and performance

The global version of Xiaomi Mi 9 is equipped with 6 GB LPDDR4x RAM at 28,500 MB / s - the highest RAM speed ever! Built-in UFS 2.1 is either 64 GB or 128 GB. The test showed 730 MB / s (read) - an excellent result, but the write - only 200 MB / s, this is a low figure! Memory cards are not provided in this device.

The novelty of Xiaomi has acquired the top processor of the American company Qualcomm - Snapdragon 855, presented in December last year. It must be understood that almost all future flagship smartphones and other devices will have Snap 855 on board.

This chip is built on a 7 nm process technology, that is, in fact, it plays catch-up, since Apple A12 Bionic processors of the same size were shown earlier, a bit later - Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 980, and Samsung Exynos 9820 can also be written here with 8 nm.

The new chip from Qualcomm carries 8 cores according to the Prime Core scheme, that is, one high-performance Kryo 485 Gold core operating at a clock frequency of 2.84 GHz stands out, 3 more Kryo 485 Gold cores received 2.42 GHz each, and, finally, the rest 4 Kryo Silver cores - 1.8 GHz each. Responsible for graphics Adreno 640 GPU with support for Vulkan 1.1 API (4K 10-bit).

Now everyone is trying to somehow highlight their achievements in the field of artificial intelligence, and so, to work with AI in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, the Hexagon 690 DSP processor is used. It functions in conjunction with the core and graphics system.

What we get in real life is a very fast smartphone. Another thing is that other devices on weaker platforms behave in exactly the same way. At the moment, there is no urgent need to increase the number of cores, frequencies, and so on. More important is the technical process, energy saving. However, the scheme for good battery life has long been known: AMOLED screen + capacious battery + stable software with decent optimization. But that's another story.

In general, I wanted to say that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor will last another 3-4 years without problems, and the 855 will last 5-6 years ahead. All the same, VR is developing slowly, and smartphones do not yet have other resource-intensive tasks. "But what about the games?" - you ask. At the moment, the Google Play store rarely comes across really worthy toys with really cool graphics. And all because most users have inexpensive smartphones that can only pull PUBG and WOT at medium settings.

Do I need to talk about the fact that Xiaomi Mi 9 pulls all games at maximum settings? :) Even if it does not pull, then this is already a problem for game developers: software must be written normally.

In the Antutu Benchmark test, the smartphone scores 370,000 points. I will not cite other benchmarks - all this is boring and the end user does not need it at all. Yes, and geeks are not particularly important.

Software

Here I will only express my brief opinion about the proprietary shell. After testing the Xiaomi Mi 9 for a long time, I cannot say that the UI stands out from the rest of the shells with something special. I often hear that EMUI from Huawei is called miserable. So, MIUI 10 is definitely not better, and in some moments even worse: dumb icons of round, rectangular and other shapes, toy animation, and so on.

Cameras

As is customary at presentations, about a third of the time is devoted to cameras. Well, because there is nothing more to surprise, but here at least they will tell about megapixels - suddenly there are more. New 2019 is the year of three cameras. They will be installed in almost all price segments of smartphones. Is it good? Without a doubt, yes.

So, three cameras are announced in Xiaomi Mi 9:

  • 48 MP, Sony IMX586, 1.2" sensor size, f/1.75. The lens consists of 6 lenses
  • 12 MP, Samsung S5K3M5, 1/3.4" sensor size, f/2.2, 2x optical zoom
  • 16 MP, Sony IMX481, 1/3", f/2.2, 117 degree wide.

In addition, there is laser focusing. As far as I understand, there is no optical stabilizer in the cameras. At least he doesn't show himself.

I will not arrange large-scale testing of the Mi 9 camera now. I will try to make a separate material on the camera and / or prepare a comparison with current flagship smartphones. Great idea?

According to the DxOMark rating, the Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphone receives the highest score for video. And for the quality of the photo - the second place. It's probably cool. What happens in real life?

Daytime photos are simply amazing: a wide dynamic range, high sharpness, excellent detail. In short, there is nothing to complain about.

In the evening, the picture begins to gather dust, especially in small details. But still there is a fairly wide DR, almost complete absence of noise and accurate white balance even in difficult light temperature conditions.

There is a night mode in the software. I did not like his work: the colors become nuclear, the picture is soapy, and sometimes too obscure.

Two-fold optics are familiar. Creates more or less good pictures in normal lighting conditions. As soon as the light becomes less, it switches to the main camera.

You can take macro photos at a wide angle. Optics works similarly in Huawei Mate 20/20 Pro.

The front camera of Xiaomi Mi 9 at 20 MP shoots very well, I would add that this is one of the best selfie cameras!

I liked the video shooting. 4K at 60 FPS is especially impressive. However, due to the lack of an optical stabilizer, the image twitches a lot. When shooting at a wide angle, the shake effect is almost imperceptible, but here the frame rate drops to 30 FPS. Slomo videos are saved at 1080p 960 FPS, 10 seconds long.

Total: I can’t say that the Xiaomi Mi 9 cameras surprised me a lot, but with a smartphone costing about 35,000 rubles, I’m sure you can’t imagine better!

Multimedia

Only one speaker on the bottom is used for speakerphone output. It sounds loud, very clean, sonorous, assertive and biting. Medium frequencies predominate, but the place is also low. There is only one minus, but it is serious: as soon as the speaker hole is blocked, the sound volume drops to almost zero. It was because of this that, unfortunately, in my jacket pockets, I almost always missed notifications. And if the hole does not close completely, then the sound is hoarse.

I checked the quality of music transmission on Bose QC35 headphones via wire. The sound is very loud, the quality is just excellent. The entire frequency range is relatively flat, perhaps with a slight advantage in the lower frequencies. I used Meizu POP without wires. I can say: Xiaomi Mi 9 rocked these “ears” as much as possible in terms of volume. Even simple ASMR in the subway is quite comfortable to listen to. Do you listen to ASMR? :)

The smartphone supports AAC/LDAC/aptX/aptX-HD, and the music player understands WAV/AAC/MP3/AMR/FLAC/APE.

Impression

Most likely, Xiaomi Mi 9 can be considered one of the most affordable smartphones this year on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. At a cost of 450-500 euros, it leaves no chance for anyone. However, as usual, there are a number of nuances:

  • At the moment, the cost of the device in Russia is unknown. At a price of 45,000 rubles Mi 9, I would say: "Come on, goodbye!"
  • I would like to see either a screen without a cutout, or in a round hole format
  • Runtime is good, but the battery drains rather quickly under load
  • Software. There are a lot of jambs so far: I don’t have notifications in the panel on top, NFC doesn’t work for payment; advertising seems to be turned off, but it still climbs out of all the software "slots"; I deactivated the button on the case on the left, but for some reason it launches the Google Assistant. There are other less noticeable bugs.

What in general? But in general, everything is not bad, but the smartphone itself did not impress me: yes, it is powerful, yes, it shoots well, but there is no zest - what would make it stand out among other devices. Is that only the price.

I consider the closest competitor to Huawei Mate 20, which I use as the main one. Perhaps this is the most successful smartphone of 2018: here you have a high-quality IPS-matrix, and the best battery life, and the excellent quality of three cameras, and a nice design, and an adequate price in the region of 40,000 rubles.

As an option - Honor View 20. Plus or minus the analogue of Mate 20, only with two cameras, but the camera is right on the screen. The price is about 37,000 rubles.

If you are interested in a wide-angle camera, then I would look towards the ASUS Zenfone 5Z: a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of internal memory, a cool IPS screen. The cost is from 38,000 rubles.

Another option is the LG G7 ThinQ. Now its price has fallen to 34,000 rubles. Here again is a high-quality IPS screen, two cameras, one of which is wide, Snap 845 processor.
