Operators: "Super New Year" and "Just Kiwi"

The main news is the closure of the Novogodny tariff (MTS). As promised, subscribers were transferred to Super Zero, and now the next promotional tariff will appear, most likely, closer to December. Beeline extended the free use of the Chat service until the end of September, and MegaFon-Moscow is actively selling Prosto boxes through QIWI terminals.

From New Year's to Super Zero

This time, the New Year's promotion has been somewhat delayed, it's already summer. On the other hand, in the "good old" times, promotional tariffs created for a set of connections were left to subscribers forever as a souvenir, to remember at least the famous "RED promotion". A lot of rumors and assumptions circulated around the current "New Year's" one, they even talked about the fact that the company decided not to touch the tariff and leave it as it is. Say, once they have already extended from March to July, maybe they will extend it again, at the same time the name “New Year” will again become relevant. However, it was not extended. There is nothing to complain about, we were honestly warned about the promotional-temporal nature of the tariff from the very beginning. News quote:

“As you were warned when connecting to the New Year's tariff, this tariff plan, launched on November 24, 2008 as part of the New Year's offer, will expire on July 8. Service will continue according to the tariff plan "Super Zero'". Now you can call mobile phones of MTS subscribers in Moscow and the Moscow region for 0 rubles. from the second to the fifth minute of the conversation!”

Pay attention to the “’” icon in the name of the tariff, it is put there for a reason. This "Super Zero with a stick" differs from its twin brother "Super Zero without a stick" by slightly more expensive calls to MTS-CIS phones: with the "Native Countries" service activated, such calls are charged at 9 rubles per minute. instead of 7.5 rubles / min. in a variant of the usual "Super Zero". In general, Super Zero 'has an interesting and unusual fate: the tariff was created specifically to transfer subscribers of the closing New Year's to it, and this Super Zero 'became archival even before it appeared on the market. Funny incident.

As usual, to ensure maximum “noiselessness”, the news was published on a day off. This time, not even as usual on Friday evening, but on Saturday morning. In the description of the New Year's tariff, there is still a note in bold type: "The tariff is valid from 06/05/2009 to 07/01/2009 on the territory of Moscow and the Moscow Region." So to speak, they lulled the vigilance of those who were waiting for the news on June 20, and not having waited, relaxed and decided that New Year's had been extended again. Should the transfer to Super Zero be considered a natural disaster, and how much will subscribers be affected? Let's put it this way: "Super Zero'" is somewhat worse than "New Year's", but let it be the biggest trouble in our mobile life. Initially, they were going to translate into a very stupid Odin.ru, so it could be worse.

For those who are interested in what they were transferred to, our review of the tariff is here, the new archived "Super Zero'" is almost no different from it. The key advantage of the tariff is free minutes (from the 2nd to the 5th) when calling to MTS numbers in your region. Quotes from the summary of our description:

“A clear advantage of Super Zero is the ability to have short conversations slowly, but at the same time pay only for the first minute. What does the operator get? First of all, he receives a guaranteed 2.50 rubles. or more from a conversation of any length. Get 2.5 rub. for one three- or five-minute conversation is much better than 1.80 rubles. for two conversations on New Year's at 90 kopecks. per minute, because there will be no additional costs for interconnection within the network. The "Super Zero" offer is designed entirely in line with the MTS tariff policy: to give the consumer something resonant, unusual and alluring, but only within the network, while maintaining a relatively high profitability of calls to competitors' networks. The approach is proven and has justified itself many times.

* 2,3,4 and 5 minutes free of charge
** From the second minute of the call
*** When the Home Countries service is activated

As you can see, there is nothing to be particularly happy about: compared to the already almost deceased "Novogodny" in the "Super Zero" tariff, on-net calls lasting from two to six minutes inclusive are cheaper, all other calls are more expensive.

"Just QIWI", the process started?

As a digression. Do not consider it an advertisement of this payment service, iron boxes with an orange heron really stand on every corner, and it is simply impossible not to pay attention to the next novelty. This time, in addition to the "profile" interest in the new project with MegaFon-Moscow, I unexpectedly came across an advertisement for the sale of shoes through QIWI terminals. Surprised immeasurably, until this day the phrase "the terminal puts shoes on" could only be interpreted in a figurative sense. I didn’t delve into it thoroughly, but they seem to offer to pay for a pair of shoes in advance at a discount, and then take the check to a nearby shoe store and choose the right shoe from those offered as part of the promotion. Funny.

Not so long ago I wrote about the joint project of MTS and QIWI, it was about the advertising promotion of the Super Zero tariff. Quote from the publication:

“... I had to pay for Beeline communication services, After a successful payment, I received an offer to get acquainted in detail with the advantages of the Super Zero tariff plan and nevertheless got acquainted, they did not deceive me. Having become interested in the phenomenon, he threw a ten on the personal account of MTS - there is no advertising. Threw money on MegaFon - here it is, dear "Super Zero" in all its glory advertising "0 kopecks / min. after the first minute. For the purity of the experiment, I walked around the area, feeding the “iron boxes” a couple more bills along the way. Almost always with "constantly excellent results", apart from one unsuccessful attempt to cope with an unresponsive screen. In general, I liked the idea, and I would recommend other operators to adopt it too. After all, quite often a user who is accustomed to "his" operator does not even look at competitors' ads, but then, when paying for services, he willy-nilly get acquainted.

The current project with MegaFon-Moscow looks even "tougher": the advertisement of the "Prosto" tariff with the possibility of purchasing a set does not appear after paying for the competitor's communication services, but at the first click on the "Pay" button. Such an unobtrusive hint that instead of replenishing the balance, you can buy a fresh box with another SIM card.

I'm so annoyed by ads that "stick out" the main lure of the tariff offer and completely ignore other features of the product. Although, perhaps, I grumble in vain, advertising is exactly what it should be. The bad thing is that more and more often they begin to dissemble, and even obligatory notes and clarifications are made generally unreadable. But more on that below.

An excellent feature is the ability to select a number from the list. For the sake of this, people go to the operator's office or sort out boxes for a long time in communication stores. Although personally I am almost indifferent to the beauty of a personal number, we still type from the address book. Advertising numbers are another matter, for them memorability is important.

The advertised "Free" SIM-card is that paid at the time of ordering 150 rubles. are fully transferred to the balance of the personal account. The ordered and paid box is promised to be delivered within two working days after the confirmation of the order; for confirmation, you must call the contact number you specified. If they don't call, you can call yourself. True, for this, it is better to write down or photograph the telephone number of the contact center indicated on the screen, just in case, it will not be on the printed receipt.

Here, as a result of the experiments, another contract was formed, right at least paste the walls with SIM cards instead of wallpaper. And the number seems pretty, it's a pity. I thought that such a terminal sales scheme allows you to comfortably and effortlessly “benefit” the right person with the right SIM card, for this it is enough to indicate his phone number during the registration process. The courier will ask for a receipt at checkout, but it is easy to scan and send. In general, if you are interested in the number, write to my email at the end of the text, we will try to redirect the courier. Why waste good in vain, and 150 rubles. not state-owned.

About advertising

I noticed a fresh advertisement of the “Many Calls” tariff, a photo of an advertising banner at the beginning of the text. I was interested in the complete absence of additional information, that same microscopic text that only a person with eagle vision is able to read. But it doesn't seem to be here at all, strange.

We discussed the photo on the forum, the text was not found. If it were not for the letter received on this subject, I would not have seen anything and could unknowingly slander the respected operator. Quote from the letter with minimal editing (for censorship reasons):

“However, I will tell you that everything is fine there. When I saw a billboard with the same advertisement, I could not understand for a long time. But these /censored/ marketers-hucksters started playing the game "Lenin in prison" when he was writing in books with milk. There is also an inscription-decryption.

But it is written half a tone lighter. Those. white on light blue in the lower right corner. Accurately on the leg of the volleyball player begins. No wonder I trampled the lawn around the stand with the risk of receiving an administrative fine”(© - telson).
