Expectations from IFA 2014

Hello, dear readers, we decided to share with you our thoughts about the expected announcements at IFA 2014. Each author will have their own article with their impressions. And now, without further ado, let's get to the article!

Samsung

Personally, IFA has long been associated with the place where the next Galaxy Note is presented, and this year, apparently, will not be an exception. Judging by the leaks, the new phablet will be equipped with a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels, a new eight-core processor from Samsung, a fingerprint sensor, and will also have a good design. The back cover will be made "under the skin", and the bezel of the device will become aluminum.

It is already clear that the new Galaxy Note will be another hit from Samsung, but am I looking forward to this device? It is difficult to answer this question unambiguously. I'm rather interested in seeing it live, but there is no such anticipation as with the third version. The fact is that the third Note has not yet lost its relevance, and MegaFon's generosity attractions only extended its lifespan.

Judging by the leaks, we can safely say that the Quartet turned out to be extremely successful, they improved the screen, worked on the design, installed a fresh eight-core processor, added a fingerprint sensor, but in fact nothing has changed. It's still a good phablet, perhaps one of the best, but the question is, are you ready to trade your third Note for it? Most likely no. But owners of older versions will find the upgrade very attractive.

Due to the interesting pricing of Note 3 last year, I am very curious what the final price of Note 4 will be in Russia and whether there will be the same chic promotions as with last year's version.

Sony will unveil three devices at IFA 2014: Sony's new flagship Xperia Z3, its mini version of the Z3 Compact, and the smaller 8-inch Z3 Tablet. I can't say anything about the Z3, but the update to the Z3 Compact looks interesting. I wonder if they will keep the same screen resolution or increase it? What will be done with the diagonal? Will the thickness that has become the cornerstone of the Z1 Compact be reduced?

As for the tablet, I'm very glad that Sony has finally started to release eight-inch devices, in this niche there was a lack of good "players". I think that with the right pricing policy and decent performance, this will be a very successful device.

There are rumors that Asus will show at IFA 2014 its new convertible tablet based on the Intel Atom Z3745 platform, as well as another smart watch.

I like Asus transformers, they really stand out from the background of most monotonous models, and the development of Android only improves their capabilities. I am sincerely glad that the company continues to develop this direction, and I will definitely go to their stand to see the updated transformer with my own eyes.

As for "smart watches", I don't think that Asus will be able to present something revolutionary in this market, however, I will draw final conclusions only after the exhibition.

Acer is rumored to have quite a few announcements at IFA 2014, but there are no details yet. However, there is one laptop that everyone already knows about and which will definitely be demonstrated again in Berlin - this, of course, is about the new Chromebook from Acer, built on the basis of the NVIDIA Tegra K1 chipset.

If we return to the expectations from the company at IFA, then I would like to see a smartphone or tablet similar in design to the Acer Aspire S7, or an updated version of the Aspire S7 itself with a separate row of numbers on the keyboard.

Huawei

Huawei will present three interesting models at once in Berlin. The first is Honor 6, the first look at which you can already read on our website. In short, it can be called a good update of the fashion Ascend P7: they improved the screen, installed a fresh proprietary chipset, and a more capacious battery. The cost of new items will be 17-18 thousand rubles, the start of sales is scheduled for the second half of October.

The second model is the Mate 7, whose numerous leaks you may have seen in the news on our website. In fact, this is the flagship phablet of the company, the more interesting it will be to look at what features have been added to it.

Almost nothing is known about the third device, so you will have to wait until the exhibition starts when we prepare a first look on it.

Conclusion

I am very happy that this year at IFA 2014 there are so many announcements, many of which are quite interesting. I look forward to the start of the exhibition to see the new products with my own eyes and, of course, tell you about them.
